Formulary deployment
Touchdose provides an interface to a medication formulary. Third-party organisations such as the BNF, The Resuscitation Council (UK) or your Trust supply Dosium with medication content that undergoes manual quality assurance checks to ensure that the content is safe to be used on Touchdose. Dosium also applies strict validation rules to the content to help reduce the chances of clinically unsafe content from being presented by Touchdose. Touchdose clients can specify content requirements to Dosium; for instance, a client might choose to configure different formularies for various clinical sites. For example, the formulary used in paediatrics may differ from that in the adult emergency department. Each site's formulary can comprise combinations of dose recommendations from different content suppliers depending on the needs of the site. Dosium generates a tailored formulary for each client based on their configuration preferences, with formulary requirements contingent on availability and contractual agreements.
To access a summary of the formulary information, click the information icon located above the search bar. After clicking the information button, proceed to the Formulary tab. The summary includes the site's formulary name and its last update date, along with details of each content source contributing to the site's formulary, including the last update date for each source.
Dosium validates formularies in line with Dosium's data requirements, however, Dosium is not responsible for the quality assurance of this third-party content; this responsibility lies with the content suppliers. Touchdose transparently communicates the origin of the content to the user.
